If you’re looking for a relaxed, friendly bar in Marmaris, Retro Bar is an absolute gem. We visited several times during our holiday and were made to feel welcome from the moment we arrived. The owner, Ismail, and bartender, Can, work incredibly hard and genuinely care about giving every customer a great experience. Can makes some of the best cocktails we’ve had in Marmaris, and the buy one, get one free cocktail offer is fantastic value. The atmosphere is perfect if you’re looking to escape the louder, more pushy bars. There was never any pressure to come inside or buy more drinks, and Ismail and Can were always happy to sit and have a chat, making us feel like friends rather than just customers. They also show all the major sporting events—we watched the World Cup there—which made for a brilliant atmosphere. A lovely touch is the complimentary pretzel sticks they bring out to nibble on while you enjoy your drinks. The music is another highlight, with a great mix of 60s, 70s, 80s and 90s classics that creates a fun but relaxed vibe. It’s conveniently located for anyone staying near Costa Mare Suites, but even if you’re staying elsewhere in Marmaris, it’s well worth a short taxi ride. We can’t recommend Retro Bar highly enough. Great drinks, fantastic service, brilliant music, live sports and genuinely lovely people. We’ll definitely be back the next time we’re in Marmaris!
