The Schweizers restaurant was completely unknown to me until then and if a friend hadn't organized a joint visit, I probably wouldn't have been there to this day. That means I didn't have the restaurant on my radar at all. I was even more amazed and positively surprised after our arrival. An open and charming guest room, in my opinion probably extensively renovated not too many years ago, housed in one of the many listed buildings on Olgastrasse in Stuttgart. After taking a seat, you are surrounded by an almost homely living room atmosphere, which is due to the relatively small guest room. Somehow unusual but still pleasant and beautiful, just a feel-good character. After looking at the menu, I knew this was the right place for me! A seven-course menu and a vegetarian counterpart. Select or deselect individual courses or mix them with the vegetarian courses, no problem. And that with à la carte and, I estimate, 25 seats. Quite impressive, just like the wine list. Unexpected well sorted, not overloaded, national and international titles and fair prices. During our entire stay we were attentively and skillfully looked after by the service team; all courses were professionally served and advertised. The dishes, which were very finely balanced in terms of seasonality, were consistently excellent. Nouvelle cuisine in Stuttgart is not available very often in restaurants without a star and certainly not as good. In my humble impression, what Gero Schweizer's kitchen crew delivers here is close to, if not at, the level of the star in question. That was really great all around. I have rarely gone to a restaurant with so little expectation and left feeling so pleasantly picked up afterwards. Clear TOP recommendation!!
