We had reservations here for weeks in advance as we saw lots of good online reviews and it seemed like a great traditional Bavarian place for our first night in Munich. Unfortunately, when we walked in, we were not met by any host so we walked to the bar to let them know we were there for our reservation. The bartender was unwelcoming and acted as though we were a bother and irritating. We told him we had a reservation and he asked when we made them. We told him weeks ago and he said “no, we have no room - come back tomorrow”. We said we couldn’t come back tomorrow and he didn’t answer, shooed us away with his hand and walked away - so we left. As we were standing outside the manager or owner came outside and said the bartender misunderstood and they found our reservation. They brought us in to a very dirty table with stains all over with a reserved sign on it (which was even dirty itself) so we decided not to go there. We wandered up the road a little to a place called Taklamakan and that was the biggest blessing that could have happened! I can’t speak to the food itself, but the service and atmosphere of Gasthaus Isarthor are definitely lacking, I would recommend Taklamakan instead. Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1
