The place is run by a lovely man and his mother. In one word: amazing. We received a very warm welcome. The owner even called us about half an hour before we arrived to ask what we would like for dinner so they could start preparing it in advance. That level of hospitality was a wonderful surprise. The room had a beautiful view, and Todtmoos is a picturesque, almost magical place. The room was clean, well maintained, and furnished with comfortable beds and beautiful traditional furniture. We especially loved the cozy atmosphere, enhanced by the real houseplants. The interior of both the building and the room is charmingly traditional; exactly what we like. It perfectly suits the fact that the house is near 500 years old and really adds to the overall experience. For dinner, we had delicious pizzas along with excellent beer and wine. Breakfast was great as well, with plenty of choice and everything fresh and tasty. The owners are genuinely kind, thoughtful, and welcoming people. We will definitely return the next time we're near Todtmoos!

Todtmoos is a charming village with limited accommodation options, and everything else was fully booked during our visit. At first, we were unsure about this hotel based on the photos we saw and didn’t expect much, but we still wanted to experience the village. It’s true that the centuries-old building could use some work on the outside, but the interior has been renovated (something not reflected in the pictures). Our room had been recently remodeled, was very comfortable, and featured a modern bathroom with a great shower.
