The food was so delicious, and the portions are really huge! I ordered a pho soup and another main dish, and by the main dish, I understood why they double-checked my order with me. The staff was very friendly. I'll definitely be going back next time I'm in Berlin. Meal type: Dinner Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Loved this place. Perfect for having an udon soup after a cold winter day in Berlin. Service was quick. Has many seating areas an a toilet suitable for wheelchair. Udon was very delicious. Just a short walk from Checkpoint Charlie, Viet Checkpoint welcomes you with a distinctly vintage atmosphere — think soft lighting, patterned walls, and a subtle touch of 70s charm that gives the place a relaxed, nostalgic feel. It’s clean, inviting, and run by a team who clearly care about service. The meal started with crispy dumplings and sweet potato fries. The dumplings lived up to their name — perhaps too much so — edging toward overdone, while the fries, though well portioned, lacked crunch or spice. For the main, the crispy chicken rice was a highlight, nicely seasoned and satisfying, though the accompanying salad felt dry and uninspired. It’s a decent choice for a casual bite when you’re nearby, but perhaps not one you’d make a special trip for. Stanley’s Verdict: Charming décor and friendly service, but the food doesn’t quite match the personality of the place — more 70s nostalgia than modern-day flavour hit.
