Very nice and cozy place. One of the best i have visited in over 30 years in Almaty. Very cute nostalgy soviet atmosphere, but with modern and cosy quality. Good service, good quality of foods and drinks, not expensive. Highly recommed to visit for guests and locals Price per person: ₸5,000–10,000 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

If you're heading to Akku, the main reason to go is definitely the vibe. It is beautifully located right inside the park grounds at the Memorial of Aliya Moldagulova and Manshuk Mametova (Aliya Moldagulova and Manshuk Mametova Square) and surrounded by lovely fountains. The ambiance is the real standout feature here, particularly the open kitchen concept, which adds a great dynamic energy to the space. It’s a very cool environment to just sit and take in the park surroundings. However, the rest of the experience doesn't quite match the stellar atmosphere. The main food menu is perfectly okay, there's nothing inherently wrong with it, but there's also nothing "wow" about the main savory dishes that leaves a lasting impression. It's just decent. That being said, there are a few major exceptions to the rule: their bakery items are fantastic, and they do a wonderful tea elaboration that is absolutely worth trying. To top it off, their Tres Leches dessert is a genuine highlight and shouldn't be missed. As for the service, it definitely gets the job done. The staff is effective and efficient, but I wouldn't go so far as to call them friendly or warm. Overall, it's a 3.5 out of 5 for me. It is well worth a visit for the gorgeous park setting, the open kitchen, and a treat from their bakery alongside a great tea, but you should keep your expectations grounded when it comes to the standard menu and the hospitality. Akky means white swans in Kazakh. This place is deeply connected to my childhood. Its terrace overlooked a fountain where beautiful swans glided gracefully across the water. I’m incredibly happy to see my childhood restaurant brought back to life. From the moment we stepped inside, I was embraced by its warmth, charm and nostalgic atmosphere. Every detail brought back memories, from the old-school ice cream to the Soviet era ice cream machine, carefully preserved and displayed behind glass like a museum piece. The careful restoration honors the restaurant’s history while allowing new generations to experience its unique spirit. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
